Dr. Mohammed Mazharuddin

Dr. Mohammed Mazharuddin is a board-certified psychiatrist and the Founder of Ascend Psychiatry, integrating evidence-based treatment, interventional psychiatry, and holistic care.

He completed his residency training at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center and New York- Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he developed a passion and expertise in treating complex mood and psychotic disorders, treatment-resistant depression, and acute psychiatric care.

Dr. Mazharuddin previously served as Medical Director of NY Ketamine Infusions, where he oversaw clinical operations and gained extensive experience in the use of novel and interventional treatments for treatment-resistant mood disorders. In this role, he developed specialized expertise in ketamine-based therapies and the integration of emerging biological treatments into outpatient psychiatric practice.

When Standard Treatment Isn’t Enough

Dr. Mazharuddin founded Ascend Psychiatry with the goal of expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based mental healthcare while bringing advanced treatment options to patients who have not found relief through conventional approaches. His vision is to combine rigorous clinical expertise with a compassionate, patient-centered model of care that prioritizes accessibility, thoughtful treatment planning, and long-term recovery.

He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he is involved in teaching and mentoring the next generation of psychiatrists. In 2025, he was honored with the Teacher of the Year Award in recognition of his clinical leadership and educational excellence.
